OCD

I can probably say that I have OCD issues, I get it from my dad (you could eat Thanksgiving dinner off his garage floor its that clean) and I am cool with that. I like a clean house, I like things in their proper place, and maybe I have a secret stock of Mr. Clean that I love. and dare I say that I have been on the hunt for a certain Mr. Clean "flavor" for a while now (because my stash is getting low) and I am convinced that it does not exist anymore.. But hey, at least I can admit it. Right? I love these!!

they smell like pure heaven!! It makes my heart soo happy! My mom makes fun of me because every time I am at her house I swear she has a different Mr. Clean bottle and she never can remember where she gets it from. Boo! I have searched all of St. George and a few surrounding towns (even Mesquite) for them and all i see is

Its not that that kind is bad, its just I LOVE how the others smell. They smell soo good that the cute couple that bought our Orem house asked me what I use to clean the house because she loved the way it smelled. And yes, that made my whole 3 months of trying to sell that house! Sure I could mix the large bottle of straight up cleaner I want but its not the same!! The ratio is never right and then you get streaks! Its my unicorn. and i WILL find it! See...OCD.

My husband is gracious enough to put up with me and I think I may have turned him into a a bit of a clean freak (which I secretly love..) but my friends, I think I have met my match... Our awesome friends that we go to Lake Powell with every year just moved to St. George and dare I say that HE is more OCD than me! I am in good company now! Someone who understands! They built a beautiful home in Washington Fields and he had things on his punch list that would have NEVER crossed my mind. I mean like, ever. They picked up a pair of rolled arm chairs from Thanksgiving Point that were exchanged by a client because of a fabric flaw.. Um the flaw in my opinion was the fabric choice.. baby blue with large juvenile looking flowers on it. Ew! But the chairs were in excellent condition and had a great shape to them. So our friends picked them up for pretty cheap because thanksgiving Point could not resale them. So HE picked out the fabric and this is what they ended up with...

He did a pretty good job picking out fabric! they also had me make a few pillows to go on the couch because decorative throw pillows that come with new couches these days are super fugly! I'd really like to know who pics out the "coordinating" fabric for these companies and thinks "Nailed it". Their pillows were bright purple! No Bueno!

All in all Id say they nailed it!! They turned out awesome and they'll probably never have to wash them because of his OCD problem...

We just got back from a week full of family, fun and a mixed bag of emotions. I lost my sweet grandma but was soo happy that I was there to say goodbye to her. She was such wonderful woman and a great example to me. I loved hearing all the stories that my mom and her siblings told about her and their childhood. I hope that I can be more like her one day! I am just so happy that her pain is gone and that she is now with my grandpa. Thank-goodness for eternal families!

While I was up in Salt Lake I was able to drop off a few slipcovers to a darling client of mine who lives up in North Ogden. I think I spent a full day driving. No bueno! Anyways, I originally was just going to make a few cushion covers for her but when I went to set up a time to meet her it had turned into cushions and another couch! I love it! She was a trooper too. she was able to get enough drop cloth gathered and washed in just a day! Here is what her couch looked like before

It is an awesome couch with great lines but they hated the wool and the cushions. She loved the look of one cushion so thats what we did. We combined all 3 back and seat cushions into one and then wrapped them in batting. It changes the whole look of the couch and now it is nice and soft to sit on too!

They loved it! She is going to send pictures of the other couch with the new cushions covers once she gets them on...

I have just a few more things to finish up and then I am tackling the monster of projects I have for Swiss Days.. What was I thinking??!!!

Fancy

My rockstar hair stylist, who is also a dear friend happened upon a pair of what i think are pretty amazing chairs. Did i mentions that she is super fancy! and can pretty much do it all. Her house is darling, she just has a talent for making ordinary things just darling, amazing and fancy! These chairs were bad, but that did not scare her away! No! they tempted her to redo them and boy they worth the sweat!

Sure they may be brown and frumpy, but she was not scared! And.. she has a pretty cool husband that helped her reupholster the chair bodies. Give a man some power tools and boom! Magic! Well, she painted the wood a nice smokey grey and then found the cutest yellow fabric at Hobby Lobby. I loved it soo much that I had to order some for one of my chairs I'll be selling at Swiss Days this year! Thanks Jess! I can't take credit for these chairs, all i did was make her seat cushions.. but Oh man!! I sure wish they belonged to me! Here is a pic of them before they had cushions made. Id say they did a smashing job!!

Now here they are with the cushions. i added white piping to give it a little more "fancy" factor. I seriously LOVE them!!!

AMAZING! and , look how cute her built ins are behind the chairs.. When I went to see her house for the first time I wanted to punch her! Her house is this darling bungalow in Lehi that just spews charm and amazingness. Its not fair but i love to look and see what she has done!

On another note, I am just finishing a pair of chairs for a client then I am working on my stuff for Swiss Days! Right now I am booked out till mid August. I will be up in SL next wednesday thru monday so if you are in need of slipcovers, let me know so I can throw you on my schedule!
